Gina Pearlin

Artist’s Statement

I think of my paintings as waking dreams.

I construct tableaus to paint from. Source materials include: found photographic images, miniature models, my own constructions and my imagination. I often search out found surfaces to paint on (a book cover, metal sign, paper) that already contain words, colors, or markings to play off of.

Gina Pearlin received a BFA from Syracuse University and MFA from San Jose State University. She has been a practicing and exhibiting artist for over 40 years. She has also practiced and taught in the fields of Hypnotherapy and Dream Education. Currently, she is an art instructor at Cabrillo College. Her work is represented by Jack Fischer Gallery in San Francisco.
